There is this fantastic picture circulating from Knight Cat, a pair of jeans with a ridiculous amount of chains dangling from it. And then there is Park & Cube’s emulated to perfection DIY Wang shorts that really makes you think twice about paying hundreds of dollars for Wang ever again. I’ve been taking these jeans and progressively adding more things to it every week. First week looks like this, definately not enough rips and a little awkward. So the following week I added a lot more rips and got out all the chains from my jewelry box that I can spare. Next week I will probably add a bunch more on the front and back if I can buy a couple more brass vintage chains. The project is not complete but I wanted to show the work in progress!

how did you make the rips in the jeans?!
ive tried before with a sharp serated knife but i cant seem to get the same effect!

Some people have emailed and left comment on how to get this effect. I’m no expert but the best way is to cut a small slit with a knife and then rip the rest with your hands. Don’t worry fabric rips straight. Then put the pants in a dryer on regular speed for about 30min and you get the fuzzy effect. The chains are just sewn on the rips free style with black thread. Make triple knots for washing later. Hope this helps!
I will put a instructions post maybe at a later date if people are interested.
