My last post about Seoul! I’ve always said that Opening Ceremony is my favorite store among the shops that I’ve been to all over Europe, Asia, North America and Africa. I’m happy to say I found something even better, and in my motherland too! The store is called Daily Projects which is located in Seoul. I had a co-worker recommend it to me when I mentioned my upcoming trip. I got in touch with the art director of the store, Jordan Kovin (the mystery man behind the mask in the photo below) who was kind enough to give me a tour. The store is full of gems that really can’t even be found among the most obscure boutiques in NYC. Their picks are from all over the world but I chose to represent the Korean designers that for most of you will refreshing.

The space is incredible, Daily projects has it’s very own cafe, gallery, two large floors for the store and a weekend flea market in their courtyard during spring and summer. It’s constantly reinventing itself and yet it’s already the best shopping destination in Seoul. I can see this store being a smash hit in the US as well. We can only hope that will happen very soon.

JOHNNY HATES JAZZ a sister line of Cho Ji Hyung which focuses more on domestic market. It’s women’s clothes with a cool masculine side. My cup of tea.
–

Line is called Kiiim (site not yet launched) by Tae Wook Kim which has made me confirm that women’s suits will indefinitely be my new passion. The salmon color suit is leather (super buttery leather!)…genius. Check out the minimal cut…it’s divine. The designer in photo upper left.
–

VIVA H. (their blog) is created by two former staffers of Daily Projects, Han Young Seo and Ha Jeong Lee. It’s their first collection which is hard to believe. This line stood out the most out of everything I’ve seen in Seoul. Check out that white dress, its not leather but actually some sort of fabric blend that has been embossed, comes in black and white. I want both! I plan to watch this line very closely in the future and hope that some store in NY is smart enough to pick it up ASAP.

C Neeon is actually a german brand but I had to include it in my post. The prints and interchangeable construction is worth a second look.
UPDATE: Honey in the Rough sells C.Neeon and they do international shipping!

That’s it for Korea. I had a fantastic time! Next is Hong Kong which is all about food and tailoring!

I would most definitely wear that blue Kiiim jacket. Is it menswear? I am currently nursing an obsession for Raf Simons and Raf-esque style. That jacket totally fits the bill.
Have fun in HK! Can’t wait to hear about your trip.

That store looks so great. I love finding stores like that when I’m overseas. It makes me feel special to have something that no one in LA will have.
