For cool summer afternoons

_____

These double layered silk in the color of slightly pinkish light beige trousers are one of many that I had made in HK during my trip. I could never buy pants off the rack without getting them tailored in the waist, butt (because I have none) and length. At the end the retail cost of the pants and the tailoring in NY costs a fortune! But these pants fit me like a glove right from the start for a fraction of the cost! I’m not doing a great job showing off the high waisted part with a great V dip detail nor am I showing off the true length but for this outfit wearing it like this made sense. I absolutely love the unique color, cut and every detail that I neurotically specified that Soong Salon happily indulged me in. It may seem like the most normal looking pair of pants to most but to me it’s the pair I had in my head for ages and couldn’t find anywhere! The only fault that I overlooked was that I chose a fabric that tends to wrinkle quite a lot. But no matter for this round, I’ll be diligently pressing them before each wear. I have no idea why HK women buy off the rack, with custom tailoring you can wear your hearts desire every time and have it fit to perfection.

great job on the tailoring!! did you purchase the fabric in Hong Kong or in New York? This outfit exudes Dries.

p.s. I most definitely think you can make Dr. Martens your style, especially the ones in black patent, which I can see with your more tailored/menswear pieces.

The sheen of those pants from over yonder is just right. I can imagine how these pants can be dressed up and down. Did you buy the fabric in the US?

“I have no idea why HK women buy off the rack, with custom tailoring you can wear your hearts desire every time and have it fit to perfection.” — totally agree. This perplexed me too while I was in Asia especially when buying off the rack cost about the same or maybe marginally less. Beautiful pants and the outfit is fantastic!

Loved your HK recap….I actually nearly shed a tear as I miss the city quite a bit now not having been back for close to three years….
I’m also now the right age for being bothered to get something tailored too so I will definitely get something done up next time I go…..
