_____
The wonderful ladies over at Gilt.com interviewed me for their blog. Here is a little taste of the interview…
_____
Whether it’s coincidence or just great taste, blogger and stylist Mimi Jung’s online boutique has had a very Gilty start. On a whim she decided to use her blog to try to sell a pair of Nina Ricci boots she’d bought from Gilt. Within an hour the boots had sold — and the Brook&Lyn Boutique was born. We chatted with Mimi about the origins of her style, her favorite winter staples, and the special joys of vintage jewelry.
_
How did you put this outfit together?
I started by picking the jewelry first. I was pretty excited to try this vintage Castlecliff necklace before handing it over to my boutique. Then I added this beaded necklace to bring all the red to life. To be honest, the ensemble came from trying to protect myself from the cold. And these Michael Kors boots have become a staple for me this winter. They’re like four boots in one — you can’t beat that!
_
What is your style philosophy?
Accessorize, accessorize and accessorize.
_
How has your personal style evolved?
I find myself borrowing less from trends and being drawn to what comes naturally instead.

I really have to commend you on your boutique, it is so beautifully done. And that shot of the monkey necklace in the “jungle” is so charming.
