_____
I’ve been emailed quite a few questions asking about the process in which I style my clients. I’m bulk answering! I first setup a meeting or consultation (video chat for out-of-towners) to get familiar with them and the things they love, the things they’ve always wanted to try, the things they’ve only imagined wearing but never found and of course the things they absolutely hate. Once I have a firm understanding of their personal style and the new direction I start brainstorming on how to merge the two. To get my creative juices flowing, I often flip through my database of style images that I’ve collected over the years. For example, I may save an image because I like a jacket a man is wearing, but when I later revisit that same image, I fall in love with the color scheme instead. Each encounter with an image from my collection is different. And this is how the styling process starts…more to come later! Here are some of the images from The Sartorialist that inspire me.

Taupe All Year Long…The most beautiful color in every fabric

Green With Envy…New color to dress your bottom

White After Labor Day…With prints and without it looks so crisp

Chalk Line Suits…Ultimate classic

Barbie Pink…Never been a fan of pink but these gentlemen crushed that!

aRRe: I started last year. After opening the boutique people started inquiring if I would personally style them. It all just started pretty naturally. But my my is it fun! A TON of work but fun. The most rewarding job I’ve ever had.

I love these. A couple of them (the man in the taupe leather jacket, and the two with green pants) are images I’ve always loved from the sartorialist, too. It must be a fascinating job. xo

Wow, such amazing pictures and awesome inspiration; for me too!
I def. want to get a pair of green pants now, would be so cool for spring. I’ve been on the lookout for a wide legged pair of pants like the first two pictures but it’s hard to find the perfect pair! And that taupe leather jacket.. wow.
Awesome post!

I had no idea that you were a stylist, too! That’s so cool. I would love to have a stylist… well, more importantly, I’d love to have some clothes.
