After graduating from Cooper Union, where she focused primarily on installation art, Mimi Jung received a scholarship to study graphic design in Basel, Switzerland. From there she returned to New York to work for Art+Commerce, where she designed books and exhibitions. She took some time off to explore personal art projects. This organically evolved into Mimi’s celebrated first jewelry collection, ‘Surrounded’, and her subsequent collections Deflected and Medaled have also been well received in the fashion and design world.
Mimi and her husband, Brian Hurewitz, relocated to Los Angeles in 2012, where the pair work as creative collaborators. Mimi has continued to infuse her art with inspiration taken from her surroundings. She is currently focusing her attention on fiber arts, creating textural sculptures.
